THESE old postcards depict scenes in Crosby.
They were handed to Memories by a former Crosby resident and keen photographer.
The first shows Cooks Road with the Birkey Hotel to the right of the shot.
The other two feature images of Alexandra Park and Coronation Park.

The photo of Cooks Road brings back many memories of my school days at Halsall Girls School as it was then called. The shops along the route then that come to my mind were.
Deakins Cobblers. I can remember Mrs Deakin a very charming lady and always very jovial.
Miss Williams' Sweet Shop next to the school.I can remember the penny tray. It was a selection of all sorts of goodies. space ships, flying saucers, liqourise sticks, white mice, jelly beans, dummies, catherine wheels, and many more. There were jars and jars of amazing sweets. Jelly babies, lemon sherbuts, fruit drops, toffees, aniseed balls, Uncle Joe's mint balls and many more. My Mum used to help out from time to time.
Frank Mc Carthey's butchers.
Turnpenny's the chemist.Yes this was like an Aladdins cave at Christmas time, with all the lovely selection boxes of soaps, talcs, perfumes etc.
Dickinson's the newsagents, which still exists, though in the 1960's was on the opposite side to the school.
Hepptenstalls bicycle shop, were I got my first bicycle.
The Greengrocers Waterworths I think it was called or else it was William Ross's.I can still see the Manageress Elsie I think her name was she was always so nice.
The Birkey of course and also the two Grocers. Mace that was on the corner of Victoria Road and the other the names skips by me at present, but the shop is now Dickinson's newsagents.
The lady's and baby linen shop, which is now a wine bar. Again the name skips my mind. Yes the photo sure brings back my school days.
